If you
have time, help a rescue group, if you have a little extra cash on
hand, make a donation. It can make a difference to a rescue group.
In a dog's eyes, we are his everything. In a dog's life, the most
important thing is love, food, shelter, water and more love. Can
you help by fostering? Would you love to have a loved one see you
as the most important thing they ever knew? Click on Fostering
above, or Adoption and learn how.
If you pick up a starving dog and
make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the principal
difference between a dog and a man.

When
AZRR was formed, we felt we filled a need that was not being met
here in the Valley: That of rescuing all retrievers and not just
Goldens. Goldens, of course would be the main focus, but there are
Chessies, Flat Coated, Tollers, and Curly Coated.
Due to the economy and declining membership participation, we have
made a decision to disband the organization. We feel the
number of rescue groups, including Golden groups, here in the Valley
and across
the nation are
being well handled
finding new homes for these unwanted retrievers.
A video montage has been created
depicting the past 4 years of work AZRR has done to save
these dogs. We invite you to view this beautiful piece.

Golden Retriever rescue groups are many across
the nation and if you are interested in one please check the website
of the Golden Retriever Club of America National Rescue Committee's
link at:
http://www.grca-nrc.org/
or locally for other local retriever
organizations at:
Phoenix Animal Care Coalition

If you are an AZRR Rescue and would like to
continue discussions with other AZRR members or rescue dogs, we have
an on-line discussion group you may join. Please send an email
to:
azrr-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
to join the group.
Meet Ginger our last adoption.
Ginger came to us extremely thin, but now loves her new home with
mom, dad and kitty. You may see Ginger's forever home store at
the In Forever Home Links page above.

We have met all our financial commitments and believe we
have enough money to pay the final vet bills. The phone
will be disconnected on 1/31/10 and community events have
immediately ceased. Any inventory and funds will be
donated to other rescue organizations.
Our "In Forever Homes" pages will live on until our last day
of website hosting is complete. All email links
will receive an
automatic response telling the sender AZRR is no longer
active.
We thank our supporters dearly for your loyalty to the
organization. We thank those that adopted and we are
forever grateful for your love of these dogs. And most
of all we thank the volunteers that have given their time
and effort to help the dogs from shelters, owner turn-ins
and strays through the process, and into forever-homes.
And lastly, if you love dogs, find a rescue group and
support them in any way you can. Your time is worth as
much as the money they need to survive. Do what you
can to help, you'll see faces like we've seen smile again.
